Explore Egypt is the go-to site for those traveling to Egypt, thinking of traveling to Egypt, or just simply fascinated by all thing Egyptian.

Egypt is a nation of contrasts – from the immensity and silence of the Western Desert to the barely-controlled chaos and delightful exuberance of the city of ancient Cairo – you will find warm, welcoming people (from the very rich to the very poor), 45 million+ year-old fossils in Wadi El-Hitan and gleaming new structures in New Cairo, tree-lined, gated, art-deco-era luxury homes in Zamalek and former tombs serving as homes in the City of the Dead, and vast, seemingly endless desert on a four hour drive to the spectacular waters of the Red Sea.

I hope to inspire you to love Egypt as much as I do.

Meet Susan

Hi, I’m Susan, a northeastern U.S. native, who traveled to Egypt once, decided to return the following year, and loved it all so much I decided to keep learning and sharing what I’ve found with others.
